About Fern & Star

I have to say, it means so much to have you here.

Photography is my absolute passion and to have you be part of my journey, enriches it even more, so thank-you, truly.

I’m Victoria and I’m a lifestyle branding photographer and family and newborn photographer in the wonderful city of Auckland, New Zealand, having recently emigrated from Liverpool Uk.

I still have a team of photographers working as the Fern and Star representatives of the Uk and it feels really special to still be able to serve clients back home.

I've been a photographer part time for four years alongside working in Manchester Children's Hospital and I left my NHS job as an Occupational Therapist in June 2020, to pursue my photography career full time - I haven't looked back.

Since starting my photography journey, I've also found a passion in teaching it, which is why I set up my beginners photography workshop and my mentorship programme for other photographers. learn more here

Having had 15 years working as a paediatric occupational therapist, I've worked with children from all walks of life, with all levels of abilities and disabilities. I know the importance of being able to adapt to a child's needs and not make demands for them to fit into our own schedule. I care deeply about making children feel included, comfortable and happy to work with me.

I understand the difficulty that comes with autism, sensory processing disorders, attention deficit disorders, to name a few and I make sure I create an environment in my sessions that celebrate their differences and encourage their spirit to shine through.

No child or parent coming to one of my session should leave, having felt stressed or under pressure to perform.

My career in OT has also given me such a unique set of skills when working with people on a one-to-one basis. I love learning about and meeting new people. It gives me such a lift of positive energy, which I bring to all my shoots.  I love getting to know other females striving to grow their business and succeed and being able to document their power and personalities visually.

My photography style is laid back and natural. I don't believe in forced poses, instead creating safe spaces for people to be themselves, which in turn lead to authentic and natural photography.

I would love to get to know what type of photography you are after! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I'd love to hear from you.
